We purchased the Electrolux 15" undercounter ice maker for our lakehouse. We have four children and entertain frequently. Homemade ice cream each weekend is a big tradition for our family. Your ice maker makes that possible and was the perfect choice for our needs. I only wish we had purchased it years ago. It's one of our favorite additions to the kitchen/bar area!

We were looking for something more than just an ice maker. We were looking for a machine that would make more ice than we needed simply because when making home brewed ice tea, drinking a soda or just icing down a fruit punch the goal is to drink it cold. Besides Its fun filling up your glass with smaller cubes instead of having a handful of big heavy ice cubes that only wind up rushing down your glass as you try to drink spilling it all over your face and shirt. Smaller cubes nestle nicely into your glass cool your drink faster and you actually get to drink and enjoy all of it. All I can say is remember the days when you thought that you didn't need an automatic garage door opener and now you just don't know how you were able to live without it for so long :)

We purchased the ice Maker at Lowes. It was installed in accordance with the instructions. I have registered it online. My two issues and one recommendation are as follows: (1) It makes thin cubes 1/8" thickness and plenty of them. The instructions in the Use and Care Guide manual to increase the thickness do not match the unit. The control panel on the unit has a different configuration instead of up and down arrows and a light symbol as shown in the manual, My unit has a plus sign(+) and a minus sign (-) and a V with a circle around it. I have tried repeatedly to make it adjust using the instructions in the manual but it will not. The control panel will not change the adjustment. The Ice thickness setting remains at 2. (2) I do not think the control panel is functioning correctly, How do i get a replacement module?. The Model #: EI15IM55GS, Serial #: GR22400017 purchase date March 30, 2014.  My recommendation for future models place the screws for the front grill on the front instead of the sides to make condenser cleaning easier. You have to pull out the unit to access the screws.

Living in Arizona with the hot summers is why I bought this icemaker.  It looks very nice and is built solidly.  Of course, it produces tons of ice.  The ice is always loose and free and is so easy to access and fill your glass or container.  I got very, very tired of the noise that through-the-door refrigerator icemakers made when filling a glass or trying to fill a container.  Yes, there is some noise associated with this appliance, but in is not annoying.  I don't miss the TV narrative the way I used to when somebody filled a glass of ice via the refrigerator.   I now believe thru-the-door ice/water is not necessary with French door refrigerators.  You can get a bigger quantity of ice via the icemaker in the freezer pull-out drawer which is easily accessible and you get more refrigerator space without the icemaker in the door.  I therefore would never buy a French door refrig with a door icemaker.  If you can sacrifice 15" of undercounter space this icemaker is the best of all worlds!!

This ice maker looks great! I got it because it matched the other Electrolux appliances. What I didn't like is that I was never told that you needed to buy and hook-up a drain pump...separate from the unit. I found out the hard way with a large puddle that leaked out of the drain in the back. With an appliance this expensive you would think it's built in...especially since it's a residential model. Other concerns are that it is very noisy and that the ice is not very "frozen". The ice melts extremely fast when you put it into a drink. After reviewing the manual (which is not very informative), I don't know if there is a way to adjust the temperature setting to make the unit colder to help the ice freeze more. Overall good looking unit, but I definitely think it lacks on design and features.

My husband really wanted square ice cubes and this was the only residential model I could find that produced them. The ice is great and it is a nice looking unit, but the process of making the ice is very noisy. If you have a very open plan to your home, you will definitely hear the running water and ice drop. I have to turn the radio up a level to hear it when ice is being made.

This unit is loud and seems to use a lot of water and electricity. The ice is soft and melts quickly in a drink. It was difficult to install and the user manual is not very clear. the biggest plus .... it goes well wtih our 5 other Electrolux appliances.

We love the ice from this icemaker. The cleaning instructions were difficult to follow and even a certified service person had to call Electrolux support for corrrect instructions. It seems the instruction booklet is not clearly written.

Ice cubes are thin and wet. Spent hours trying to program it, nothing worked. What the manual says, doesn't work on our machine. I called the two Electrolux approved vendors, and one wouldn't come to my area the other never return my calls. For the highest priced icemaker out there I'm not impressed at all and would not recommend this.
