What water temperature should I select when washing a load of laundry?

When choosing a water temperature, these are the basic points to consider:

    • Hot water cleans most effectively, but it shouldn’t be used for all items.
    • Warm water can be used for most normally soiled loads.
    • Cold water is recommended for lightly soiled or brightly colored or dark items.

To compensate for a cooler wash, it may be necessary to soak or prewash heavily soiled items, increase wash time or use additional laundry products to boost the detergent’s cleaning power.

To protect your fabrics, not all temperatures are available with every cycle. If a temperature is not appropriate for the cycle, it cannot be selected. Your Electrolux Front Load Washer is smart. It will remember the temperature you select for a cycle and recall it each time until you change it.

How do I use my detergent dispenser?

Based on your detergent choice, here are some helpful tips:

Liquid:  Add the recommended amount of a high efficiency liquid detergent to the Main Wash – Liquid Only cup.  Do not exceed the MAX fill line.

Powder:  To use a high efficiency powder detergent, remove the Main Wash – Liquid Only cup and add the powder directly to the Main Wash detergent chamber.  It’s important to save the liquid cup insert in case you need it for future use.

Pods:  Place the pod directly into the washer drum BEFORE placing laundry into the unit.

What type of detergent should I use with my Electrolux Front Load Washer?

Electrolux recommends using a high-efficiency (HE) detergent for front load washers. HE detergents are designed for front load washers which use lower water levels. They are also formulated to reduce soap suds and ensure proper cleaning.

Non-HE detergents may cause excessive generation of soap suds and result in detergent residue on your clothing at the end of the cycle. Always refer to your detergent manufacturer instructions for the proper dosage.  Do not fill any compartments in your dispenser beyond the maximum amount line.

We do not recommend the use of detergent pods with our front load washers.  We are unable to guarantee the pod will dissolve at the correct time during the wash cycle to ensure proper cleaning performance. If pods are used, please place the pod directly into the washer drum BEFORE placing laundry into the unit. Do not place the pod in the detergent drawer as the gel coating may cause the detergent drawer to become clogged.

What is the best way to care for and clean my Electrolux Front Load Washer?

For optimal care refer to the guidelines in your Owner’s Manual. However, here are some quick tips:

    • Promptly remove finished loads
    • Clean the top and sides of the washer with a damp cloth or mild soap and water. Avoid hard, gritty or abrasive cleansers.
    • Leave door open to keep washer fresh when not in use.

Some models have a feature that props the door open when the washer is not in use.

    • When washing heavily soiled items, shake or brush off excess dirt and sand before putting them in the washer. If any dirt remains in the drum after washing, wipe with a non-abrasive cleaner, then rinse.

Most models have a System Clean Cycle or Clean Washer Cycle and will automatically prompt you to run the cycle every 50 wash cycles.
