Springtime is all about new beginnings, and I always like to buy myself a new dress at the start of the season as a little gift for getting through the long winter (I live in Connecticut) and to get myself excited for summer.
A good spring/summer dress is key for warmer months. You can top it with a denim jacket or blazer and scarf on the cooler spring days, and wear it on its own or with a cute sunhat as we transition into summer. The key to wearing and re-wearing easy pieces like this is making sure that the color stays in tact when you wash and dry them.
This season, the “cold shoulder” look (when a top or dress has the shoulders cut out of it) is everywhere, so I stayed on trend, scooping up this striped linen dress. It fits my growing bump, and will look great post baby as well!
Dresses like this only look great when the color stays intact. If it starts to fade, it will look washed out and old. So how do I keep my clothing from fading?
I feel safe throwing it into my Electrolux front-loading washer without a second thought because of its amazing SmartBoost™ technology that cleans my clothes surprisingly well in cold water, and keeps colors vibrant for longer. For pieces like this dress that are already light, it’s important to keep the baby blue as is, or it will start to look old really quickly!
