We’ve partnered with blogger Sarah Sherman Samuel of Stories for outfit inspiration and styling tips on some of her favorite pieces.
Summer whites aren’t just for the summer anymore! When the weather becomes cooler, keep your all white clothing from jeans to tops in rotation and explore wearing them with your fall and winter favorites.
Don’t have that go-to, favorite white item in your closet yet? A white top is a great place to start – it’s a wardrobe staple that goes with everything. Here’s a tip though – don’t just grab any white tee, find one with interesting details that make it special. Sarah’s favorite is cropped with an cinched wait and has eyelet detailing that elevates this piece to go beyond basic.
Look 1: Classic Chic
There’s nothing more classic than a white top with crisp jeans and leather boots. Sarah pairs her cropped top with a pair of high-waist blue jeans to really elongate her look while the ankle booties ground the look. Details like the deep V on her booties and jewelry like her large gold cuff makes the look casual enough for a lunch date but polished enough for a client meeting.
Look 2: Monochromatic + Animal Print
Sarah says going monochromatic is one of her favorite style tricks. It feels modern and fresh, especially since white is worn all year now. Also, nothing says fall like animal print. Pairing white with something like leopard booties brings extra style, detail, and the perfect seasonal touch to a monochromatic look.
Look 3: Fall Details
For Sarah, a midi-skirt has been a go-to piece in her wardrobe. The cooler months mean longer hemlines and a midi-skirt can really work for all seasons. Not only is the white crop top the perfect length to complement the high waist line of the skirt, the olive green color along with black booties (peep toe or not) make this look autumn-ready.
